Lovely weekend of music, first at the Cove on Saturday night serenading the diners and then SUNDAY at the Firehall Theatre in the Town of Gananoque for the "1000 Islands Sings Concert" in support of the local food banks. When Miss V isn't performing, she's usually shooting photos of other people performing, and so here are a few pics of the evening's events: CLICK HERE TO SEE PHOTOS

Such an amazing time this past Sunday afternoon at "A Greavis Gathering" in Kingston's Blu Martini! Big thanks to Derrick Claridge for pulling off this massive gathering of kingston musicians - so great to catch up with folks and see some faces I haven't seen in a long time, and get a chance to listen to some great live music. Miss V and I were honoured to be included in this lineup and delighted to have the marvellous Ian Kojima get up with us for a couple of songs! Thanks Ian!
Mavis and Greg you are so very deserving of this recognition, always a treat to see your smiling faces in the crowd. Thanks for all you do to #SupportLiveMusic - BTW Derrick's young, he's got a year to recover, I say you do it all again next year - whaddya say?? Stay Cool, Keep Warm!!

Home from the Emerald Isle...still recovering from a most wonderful adventure with Miss V. Got to see the sights, spend time with a loved one, make new friends, and of course - play a little music!! For now here's a little clip from a jam session I sat in at O'Connor's pub in the beautiful village of Doolin!
I also got to experience the "thrill" of driving, left-handed stick, on the left hand of their very narrow road....wow. In some areas the posted speed limit was 100km/hr....I did 40km/hr - tour buses, on coming cars and SHEEP - OH MY! - needless to say there were a few times after a long day of driving, I'd have a nice shot of Irish Whiskey to soothe my poor nerves.
Before we took off on our adventure, I got to catch up with my old pal Wendell Ferguson, the marvellous Rick Fines, Suzie Vinnick, Jenny Whitely and Joey Wright who performed at our annual "Between the Lines" songwriters showcase at the Cove Inn. Truly gifted songwriters - I love these shows. I love that these talented people have an opportunity to perform their art in a concert setting, with people....Listening. Wow.
Winter is definitely moving into Eastern Ontario and our thoughts turn to warming wood fires, comfort food, well loved old sweaters... Still adjusting to early onset of darkness this week, those with 9-5 jobs aren't loving the drive home in the dark and well, it can be a tough time for many folks for different reasons, this prolonged period of darkness... Often times, I find playing music helps - a good song, can be healing ray of sunshine on an otherwise bleak day. It really is therapy.
This weekend, we'll join a bunch of Kingston's finest musicians at Blu Martini on Sunday, November 12 to make a joyful noise and shine the light on two of Kingston's best loved and most dedicated Live Music Cheerleaders, Mavis Livingston & Greg Richmond - fondly known as "Greavis". Starts at 3pm and goes til 11pm. $5.00 gets you in for all the fun, and all monies raised are being split between the Kingston Sexual Assault Centre and Joe's Mill. Great Music for a great cause!
By the way we still have some open dates if you'd like us to come play at YOUR holiday gathering - get in touch! In the meantime - Stay Cool & Keep Warm.

Our show at the Glen Lawrence Golf Club this Friday is being postponed...so we'll head down to Joel Stone Park to catch The Whiteleys (Ken Whiteley, Jenny Whiteley Music, and more!) in concert by the waterfront. SATURDAY night I'll be joining the Bob Robertson Trio at Kingston Sheepdog Trials at Grass Creek Park, and finally SUNDAY, Miss V and I will spend the afternoon in our favourite spot The Cove Country Inn patio from 12:30-3:30pm. (Oh and while you're at the Cove, pick up a copy of the awesome free August edition of theHumm and check out the little piece they did on us 😊)
Also - Very proud of this little project, and the very talented local songwriters who contributed their work! Please check it out, pick up a copy at one of the locations in Gananoque, and catch one of their live shows if you're in the area. All proceeds from the sale of the CD go to the Gananoque Foodbank and the TLTI Foodbank #SupportLiveMusic #SupportLocalSongwriters

Had a lovely time last night doing a solo set in the picturesque town of Williamstown, just north of Cornwall, for their town social. It's a very cool step back in time for sure - met some lovely folks, and got to take my time and enjoy a scenic drive along the 1000 Islands and Long Sault Parkways. Thanks so much for having me!
It was a pretty terrific musical weekend. Tom Savage Music, Tony Silvestri, Richard Piche and Gary Barratt killed it this past Friday night at Joel Stone Park. Tom is the real deal - all original tunes, and it was great to have a night off and catch those guys! Saturday night at The Cove we helped June and Don celebrate their Golden Wedding anniversary on the patio. There were a couple of birthdays too - A lovely lovely busy night. Sunday, the weather was being its unpredictable self...but great time was had in the lounge nevertheless. THIS WEEK - a mini road trip.. FRIDAY night down Hwy 2 to Kingston at DOX Restaurant Bar & Patio , Holiday Inn Waterfront - 6 to 9pm. SATURDAY Night we head to Belleville to Capers (food is dynamite by the way!) 8-11pm, and SUNDAY we return to The Cove Country Inn to wrap up the weekend 12:30-3:30! Hope to see you along the way! In the meantime, Stay Cool and Keep Warm!

Looking forward to some good fun this week, starting Thursday night with the Bob Robertson Trio at Pan Chancho Bakery & Café for their Backyard BBQ series. Always a good night.
I'm especially excited for Friday night when Head over Heels and the Bob Robertson Trio will be joined by two of my favourite musicians - Danny Artuso will be sitting in and bringing some pedal steel and lead guitar magic, and my dear friend the wonderful Henry Heillig is coming up from Toronto to join in with his jazzy bass grooves. It's going to be a really fun musical mash-up at Joel Stone Park in the Town of Gananoque starting at 7:00pm.
Sunday, Miss V and I return to The Cove Country Inn for another afternoon of music, great food, and wonderful hospitality - as V calls it; her happy place. Hope to see you somewhere along the way. In the meantime - Stay Cool, and keep warm!
